Clarkesville GA #21 - Sunny and cool

 January 13 2021

The trip from Greenville SC to Clarkesville GA was a short 1.5 hours, so making it there for 11:00 play was relaxing. The drive through the rolling countryside was enjoyable. While the temperatures were cool, the sun was shining which made for some fantastic play. Christine, pictured above was very welcoming and helpful as we arranged for our play at the Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center outdoor courts. Christine keeps quite busy organizing play at multiple locations and she is a peach that the pickleball community appreciates. Here she partnered up with John against Barb and me to show us that they can give us a competitive game by winning against us. The courts here are overlaid onto tennis courts and were in excellent shape.

All the players at Clarkesville were welcoming and friendly. Jerry and John gave us our first game to get us warmed up. Then Gwen and John played us in some mixed doubles. As previously stated and shown in the photo at the top, John and Christine gave us a great game. Finally Sarah and Colleen closed out our play there with us.

After we finished playing it was time for lunch, so we headed downtown to The Attic which had multiple recommendations from players and friends. While it was a little cool inside, the ambiance was delightful and the food good.
